But, that same thing is possible with ES File Explorer.

1. The process is very simple. Simply select the files you want to rename to in sequence like picture1, picture2, picture4.
2. After selection, select the rename option.

5. You can even choose to change the file format. But, its better to leave it to its default state.

How To Set Up Youtube Streaming Quality To Your Default Choice In Firefox and Chrome Browsers.

While streaming music in YouTube is this annoying, as per my opinion, auto streaming quality feature. Whenever I stream, the video quality gets changed on its own from 144p to 240p to 360p to 480p to 720p and higher. I would prefer the youtube streaming quality to be constant 360p or 480p so as to save my bandwidth.

You can achieve that using addons/extensions in both Chrome and Firefox. The addon is called SmartVideo for Youtube.

I will guide you through the installation and settings in case you would need them for both Firefox and Chrome.

Installation

1. If you are using Firefox, you can download the addon using this link: SmartVideo For Youtube

    If you are using Chrome, use this link to download the addon: SmartVideo For Youtube Chrome

2. In both the browsers, you will see "Add to Firefox" or "Add to Chrome". Simply click that link and the addon will be added to your browser.

Set Up Your Default Streaming Quality Choice

1. For Firefox:

go to the extension page or enter about:addons in the address bar and select extensions and then options of SmartVideo For Youtube. Select preferences.  

For Chrome:

enter this chrome://extensions into the address bar to go into the extensions menu. There select options under SmartVideo for Youtube. 

In both cases, the above steps will direct you to the settings page/global preferences page of the addon.

There are screenshots below to guide you.

2. Just like in the picture below, select the quality you would like to set up as default. It is circled/marked in blue color(is that purple?). After choosing your quality choice, you can close the preferences page by pressing the ESC key in your keyboard or by closing the tab.

3. If you think it is not working, then try restarting the browsers. So far everything is working fine in my case.

TUTORIAL: How To Fix Loose Headphone/Earpiece Wire By Yourself.

Everyone has at least come across a headphone not working in either one side due to a loose wire. Sometimes, it is near the audio jack and sometimes near the earpiece. When you give the wire a little twist it works on and off. If you face that problem then the tutorial is for you.

Here I will show you a brief tutorial in fixing your headphone by yourself. I am going to fix my Senheiser HD 202 2. Near the audio output/earpiece the wire is a little loose. So, I'm going to cut the wire and discard the loose part.

Things needed.

1. You can always improvise.

2. I am using a knife (laughing) to cut out the outer insulation i.e. the wire.

3. I am using a match stick to burn the white insulation (see picture below).

3. I am not using a soldering device because I don't have that. Rather, I am going to improvise using glue. Yes, I know! I am a fool. But, somehow my improvisation is working. 

Tutorial

1. Cut the loose part. Improvise according to your situation.

2. In the picture below, the fresh opening has white cloth like insulation. You can untwist it and cut it out from the thin metal or burn it along with the metal wire. Burning won't do any much difference to the metal wire. This method has worked best for me to completely eradicate the white insulation which is crucial in making your headphone work.

3. After you are done, just solder the wire to the headphone magnet like shown in the picture below.

5. That should solve your problem.

There is a lot to improvise here. But basically you get the idea of it. It's just putting wires or connecting them.

How to not get your device Bricked when you have rooted your phone

This post is about preventing software problems in your android after rooting your android device.
When you flash a file (.zip etc) using the stock or custom recovery sometimes it makes unwanted changes in the file system  which may lead to problems like your device never booting up, called bootloop. Sometimes you may have accidentally deleted system files. I will share some ways to prevent such things and keep your device brick free from the experiences that I have gathered while using 4 android devices and rooting them and flashing custom roms and stuff.

1. Recoveries:
Flashing a custom recovery is advised when you are going to toy with your android like rooting and flashing custom roms. Custom recovery like CWM, TWRP etx give you the option of backing up the rom and reverting back to the back up in case somthing goes wrong. SO MAKE SURE THAT YOU NEVER FLASH AN INCOMPATIBLE CUSTOM RECOVERY. Make sure that it compatible. Sometimes back up and restore may be possible but incompatible recoveries will give you error when you boot up the device.

2. Deleting system apps:
So you have got your android rooted. You want to delete bloatware, unwanted softwares. There are some apps that are crucial for the android system to work properly.
So Do your research and see if the app that is in /system/app/ can be deleted or not.
You can delete app that is in data/app/ which is like uninstalling an app but without deleting the folders and temp files etc.  I used that directory mainly for copying apks and saving them.

3. Always keep a backup of your current ROM.

4. Whenever you phone has software issues just restore the back up rom and your phone will work again.

5. UNROOTED PHONE NEVER BOOTING UP
If you face that problem, it happens to a lot of people, just go to your factory recovery menu.
Procedure:
Shutdown phone completely.
Press Power Button + Volume Up Simultaneously.(depends on device. Google the procedure for your device if the one below doesn't work)
Shortly after 5 seconds or more a page will load up with options like apply update zip, factory reset, wipe cache, etc.
Scroll with volume + and -
Select with Power Button
Select factory rest. This will revert your android to stock like before you bought your device.
After reset, select Reboot.
Hopefully your device will boot up!

6: INSTALLING EXPOSED MODULE
Make sure that Your deivice and rom supports it. I have pretty much bricked every time I tried this without researching pretty well.

My Printer Buying tips after 2 years of experience with a failed choice. Printer buying tips!

# Printer Buying Tips if you want to save a whole lot of money!
I guess everyone comes at a point in time where they actually need to do a research to buy a printer. That's where I come now.

I have owned and used my ***HP Deskjet 1050*** printer for nearly 2 years now. And those two years have taught me a whole and now I want to share the information that I have learned to all of those who need it right now.

**First of all**, you need to check the type of printer you need.
  - print
  - scan
  - copy
The one I have can do all of those three things. And there are specific printers for it also. But for home user they come in different options or combined as one.

**Secondly**, in terms of functionality like
  - photo printing
  - photocopying
  - scanning
  - printing from laptop etc
If you are going to print a lot of photos better  buy the printer dedicated for it. Some machines do better job at photos and some at printing in their ink cost and quality print cases. You need to also look at the speed of the print. You may want to print 100 pages in 5 mins or faster depending on your work which can be done by faster printers. For me , my HP Printer is fine enough even if it takes 1min to make a full A4 size photo print.

**Thirdly** Ink and cartridges
The one I have can normally print at the maximum 100 pages of word documents without any graphics. But you will just get 10 pages of photo pages with the HP 802 cartridge (the one inside my printer). And another most ***important thing*** check for refillable system and ciss (continuous ink supply system). If the cartridge of the printer you have chosen can be refilled or the ciss system can be attached, then, it will save you lots of money in the future.

You can refill your cartridge when your ink runs out without buying the original costly cartridge at a fraction of the cost of the new one. Suppose new cartridge costs $10, then refilling will save you $9.5. You save a lot. You can install CISS and print 1000 pages without the need to refill after every 100 pages. Check the videos in youtube about Ciss and refilling stuff. ***Remember*** after buying the printer, the cost on cartridges will be the only thing that cost you more than any other.

There are different types of printer available like
  - laser, really fast, lots of pages
  -  inkjet, slow, 50-100 or + pages.

Importing contacts from Addressbook.sqlitedb to IPHONE/GMAIL/CSV/VCF for Iphone.

Hello folks! This tutorial is about importing contacts from addressbook.sqlitedb to IPHONE/GMAIL CONTACTS/CSV/VCF.

NOTE: THIS TUTORIAL IS FOR IPHONE ONLY, ALTHOUGH CONVERSION OF CSV TO VCF IS UNIVERSAL.

STEPS for SQLITE to CSV

1. Install SQLite Manager add-on in your Firefox browser. This addon will be used to convert the sqlitedb file to csv. 
    Goto Menu-Tools-SQLite Manager in your Firefox browser like in the picture

2. After opening SQLite Manager add-on you will get something like this:

3. On SQLite Manager window click the open icon(CONNECT DATABASE) and selected AddressBook.sqlitedb.
    Open the Execute SQL tab(hint in the picture below) and execute the following query by clicking Execute Query.

 select ABPerson.prefix, ABPerson.first,ABPerson.last, ABMultiValue.value from ABPerson,ABMultiValue where ABMultiValue.record_id=ABPerson.ROWID

 4. Now to Export the file to CSV,  click actions and select Export to csv from the drop down list. And there you have your CSV file. Here is the hint picture:

 Finally, now you have your CSV file. All you need to do now is to convert your csv file to vcf format to export it to iphone or gmail contact.

STEPS FOR CSV TO VCF

1. Downlaod this(csvtovcard) free windows software for converting from csv to vcf. Here is the link: http://www.csvtovcard.com/

Install it and conversion is pretty easy. Please make sure that the properties of the first name, middle name, last name, mobile, etc. are in the right boxes. Otherwise contacts will be misplaced here and there, showing phone no. in name box. It gave me a lot of trouble, but, I fixed it.

  

Now after converting you'll get a vcf file ready to be used in gmail to enable gmail contacts sync in Iphone or any other phone.

STEPS FOR VCF TO GMAIL/IPHONE

1. Open your gmail account and open the contacts option. There you'll find an option to import contact. Simply select it and choose the file you just converted. Now gmail has your contact.

2. In your Iphone, go to setting. There you'll find a list for accounts section like icloud, gmail, etc. Link your gmail account and after linking you'll get option for syncing calender, contacts, etc. Simply turn on contacts. Now, your Iphone will be synced with gmail contacts.

Wolla! all done! Enjoy!

Unblock Youtube or fix flash error in MTNL or other networks(easy)

YOUTUBE FLASH ERROR FIX AND VIDEO STREAMING PROBLEMS FIXED IN YOUTUBE.

So, the past few days I couldn't load any video in YouTube in my firefox browser. With vpn somehow the videos loaded. But, after disconnecting the vpn, youtube would give errors again.

I thought the problem was caused by my adobe flash player. I uninstalled the flash player and installed it again only to be disappointed.

Then at last, I came across this dns server fix for MTNL. It worked and now flash videos works fine in every site. Before I couldn't even download from many sites. That is long gone now. So, here is the tutorial.

STEPS

1. If you are using an adsl router:

   

    Enter your wifi-router configuration settings page. It differs for every router.       Just look for settings with the words "DNS". It can be primary or secondary

    DNS. It might be 0.0.0.0 in your router right now. You need to change this. Go 

    to OpenDNS and copy the DNS server. The picture below is an example.

    Copy the DNS address. You will be pasting this in your router.

    After finding your DNS settings paste them like this

    Click save. Now, try youtube. It will load just fine.

2. If you are not using an adsl router

    The steps are the same as above. The difference is that you need to find the

    location of  DNS option in your windows PC.

    Go to your network connection. Select status and then click properties below the Activity there select the IPV4 and click on properties. There below you'll see  " use the following DNS name" there fill the primary DNS and alternate DNS servers. Apply it. All done.
