I was using Disqus in my site for loading comments. Recently, I deleted Disqus as I was changing some things on my site. To my surprise I couldn't find the comment box load on my site.
After a few minutes of finding a solution for it, I found out that it was because I had disabled it in the post edit section.
The fix simple, really. In the options below the 'Post Settings,' you can simply disable comments for the particular post or hide it by simply checking the Reader Comments options to Allow or Don't Allow.
If you want comments to show up, select Allow.
If not, then select Don't Allow.
